Don’t ever let your disability or money prevent you from getting an education. You might be surprised, but there are hundreds of scholarships available for those with disabilities. While they may not all be available to Utah students, there are a few high-paying scholarships available to everyone in the United States. All you have to do is apply.
Some disability scholarships are available to high school seniors, while others require you to already be attending college. The trick to obtaining scholarships is making sure to read all of the eligibility guidelines. The following scholarships are available to students with any kind of disability. Find out which ones you might be qualified for:
- Google Lime Scholarship Program—This $10,000 non-renewable scholarship is available to everyone in the United States who has a disability and is going to college for a computer-related degree. Applications for this year are closed, but 2017 applications should be opening this fall.
- Microsoft DisAbility Scholarship—This $5,000 non-renewable scholarship is available to high school seniors who proves a financial need to attend college and intends on majoring in computer-related majors, business-related majors, or law-related majors. The scholarship is usually awarded in May.
- AAHD Frederick J. Krause Scholarship on Health and Disability—This $1,000 scholarship is available for juniors in college whose major is health-related. Applications are currently going on right now.
- Business Plan Scholarship—This $1,000 dollar scholarship is available to any college student who has written a business plan. All you have to do is a write a reflective essay about how writing a business plan helped you. Applications are open right now.
There are plenty of websites that list different scholarships available. While not all scholarships listed may be available for Utah students, they may still be available if you’re planning on attending a college that is out-of-state. You can check out lists here and here.
